Hi Everyone! The CDC has recently relaxed its guidelines for those who are fully vaccinated. In the coming days, Michigan will most likely follow suit and loosening its own mask mandate. With that being said, we have not received directives from the licensing and regulatory affairs department in regards to employee and client mask requirements in medical spas. We would like to keep you updated as we navigate to provide the best business practices. Currently, both our staff and guests are expected to wear face coverings over their nose and mouth. Once we have further direction we will begin allowing those who are vaccinated to remove their masks. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. We are continuously striving to provide our staff and guests with a safe and comfortable environment at Urban You. As guidelines continue to change we will keep you updated along the way!

ALL LOCATIONS ARE OPEN FOR ALL SERVICES

All employees will maintain a social distance of 6 ft. between employees and guests.

  • All employees will be required to wear masks when interacting with other employees or with guests. If a guest is not able to wear a mask during a service, the employee will be required to wear an N95 (or approved KN95 mask) during the service. They will also wear a gown and face shield for enhanced protection.

  • Each employee's temperature will be taken and recorded prior to entering the work site at the beginning of a work shift.

  • Each employee will complete a short survey of certain COVID-19 symptoms prior to their beginning shift.

  • When checking in or out, please stay on the X's marked 6ft apart from each other.

  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout every location for guest use. Please help yourself.

  • Guests are advised to maintain a 6ft distance when entering the waiting area. Appointment only.

  • If you are feeling ill, have a fever, or you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home and give us a call. We will get your appointment rescheduled for you.

  • Only one guest will be permitted in any treatment room or designated treatment area.

  • Only two employees at one time will be permitted in any employee break room, and employees will maintain a distance of 6 ft. between themselves to the best extent possible.

  • All guests will wear masks before entering any Urban You location.

  • Contactless Guest payment and checkout is available.

  • Only bottled water will be offered to guests at this time.

  • Specific advanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols for each service will be followed and are set forth under the Service Subject that is assigned to you as a service provider.

Dear Urban You Family, 

We know this has been a difficult time; we hope you’re staying safe and healthy. We know that you are missing your Botox, Facials, Shape House Sweat Sessions, Lash Extensions, and all of the wonderful providers here at Urban You, and we miss you too!

We are currently working on a location-by-location reopening plan that prioritizes the safety of our clients and employees. We will hopefully have an official opening date soon with more information, but in the meantime, we want to share what we are doing to prepare Urban You locations, team members for reopening. As a beauty and wellness company, our goal is to make this process as stress-free as possible so that Urban You can continue to be a place where you can come to relax and recharge, and we want to make sure everyone feels comfortable coming in to get their services. Our team is small but mighty, and focused on making sure that when we do reopen, we’re operating in a safe manner.

Here is what we plan to do: 

  • We will be following thorough disinfecting guidelines, which include cleaning and sanitizing throughout our locations and between each appointment. Everything we touch will be wiped down regularly.

  • Our staff will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to face masks, gowns, face shields, and gloves. (We are all smiling underneath!)

  • Team members will have their temperatures checked before entering each location with our non-contact digital forehead thermometers.

  • We will be limiting the number of people inside our locations and have social distancing cues for staff and guests to reference.

  • At this time, we will pause our espresso and water bar.

  • Although we love hugs, and we will WANT to hug you, our staff will be refraining from physical touch. You might see an enthusiastic wave or clapping.

  • We have implemented a touchless check-in, check-out, and payment process called UYGO to prevent cross-contamination with shared devices. This is a new feature on our Urban You App.

  • Our waiting area will be closed to ensure safe social distancing. With touchless check-in, you will be able to let us know you are in the parking lot with just one tap, and then wait for your appointment to begin in the comfort and safety of your vehicle. Our Guest Experience Coordinators will send you a push notification when it’s time for you to come in.

In regards to appointments and booking:

  • Prior to your next service at Urban You, all guests will need to complete an Urban You Consultation and clearance from our Medical Providers. The UY Consultation is an opportunity for us to plan your next treatment or series of treatments, and ensure that they are safe to perform based on your recent medical history. In an effort to reduce in-person contact, we are offering Virtual and Phone Consultations right now, and anyone who completes will get priority booking for their next appointment.

  • For the safety of our staff and other guests, all persons entering Urban You will be required to wear a protective face covering. We will have masks available for purchase if you do not have one.

  • We encourage you to download our app, update your profile, and enable the UYGO features as soon as possible.

  • If you have had a fever over 100F, cough or shortness of breath, 48 hours or less before your appointment, please call 616-570-0228 to reschedule.

  • If you have been diagnosed with an acute illness of COVID-19 by testing or suspected COVID-19, you must be quarantined for 10 days plus be symptom-free for 72 hours before booking an appointment at Urban You.

  • We will be checking your temperature with a non-contact digital forehead thermometers.
