This week on SLOWMO, Nicole sits down and chats with Erinn Moss. Erinn is a former “Survivor” contestant, philanthropist, business owner and mom to four boys ( in four years!) She tells us about opening Michigan’s first Drybar, how she’s learning to shift and Inspire her team in this past year and the growth she’s looking towards in the year to come.

How did life bring you from placing third place on Survivor to opening mutiple Drybar locations in Metro Detroit?

“I met my husband a few years after appearing on Survivor. He was playing in the NHL at the time. We moved around a bit while he was playing: Calgary, Arizona, and even a spent a season in Switzerland. He lost a few teeth, we had a few kids. Post-retirement, we settled in metro Detroit, near Ann Arbor, had a few more kids. We have four boys: ages 1, 2, 4, and 5. I also own and operate two Drybar franchises here in Michigan — a salon concept that specializes in no cuts, no color, just blowouts. To say I have been busy is an understatement.”

How do you integrate wellness and beauty into your busy schedule with a full life, entrepreneur, and mom of 4 boys?

“I have found that the best way for me to integrate some much-needed self care is to schedule my appointments at my current appointment. When I visit Urban You ( which I love) I try and schedule my next appointment while I’m there. If I don’t carve out time in advance for myself, it won’t happen.
