CoolSculpting FAQ #2

CoolSculpting is the leading procedure in the ‘noninvasive body contouring’ category yet there are so many questions around the process. What happens to your skin? Where does the fat go? How long do the results last?

In our three-part blog series, we’ll answer the top questions we’ve received through our DM’s, comments, and messages about CoolSculpting to better educate our customers.

During coolsculpting treatment, you can read, work on your laptop, or just relax. An applicator is applied to targeted area where tissue is drawn into a vacuum cup and controlled cooling is delivered to the targeted fat.

CoolSculpting is a patented cooling technology that targets and kills fat cells with no downtime. Our practitioners will work with you to develop a plan that is specific to your fat reduction goals.

The practitioner places applicators in the desired area. Depending on where you want to be more sculpted will depend on how you’re positioned during the process. The applicators suction/vacuum your skin and fat. Treatments can last from 30 to 60 minutes. Once it’s done, your practitioner massages the area for 5 to 10 minutes to stimulate blood flow to that area. Afterward, you can carry on with your day like you normally would. There is no downtime!

Now, what happens to the fat? During the process, your fat cells become crystallized (aka frozen). Weeks after your procedure, the fat cells slowly die and your body rids of them naturally.

CoolSculpting changes your body shape by targeting your problem areas. Some of the most bothersome areas we carry extra fat is in our abdomen, thighs, and upper arms. Some see results after a few weeks, but the best results are achieved after 2 to 3 months.

How many treatments you need varies depending on your desired results. Treatment plans can start with 2-3 sessions and can go increase in sessions depending on your specific treatment plan.

This question is tricky. While the fat cells that were frozen are permanently gone, if you gain weight you will likely gain weight everywhere which could potentially be where you got CoolSculpting done. It’s the same with any other fat reduction cosmetic procedure. The key to maintaining your results long term is to continue living a healthy lifestyle by eating a nutrient-rich diet and working out on a regular basis. Most customers are motivated once they start to see results and it encourages them to stay on top of taking care of their physical body.
