Get Ready for the Big Dance!

HOMECOMING
The best part about the fall semester is homecoming! From attending the football game, school spirit, and being around great friends, homecoming is one of the most highly anticipated events.

PREPPING
Let us keep you on track for your homecoming day with a few tips and trends to make sure you include in your routine.

ARRANGEMENTS
The easiest, but most forgotten about step, is making simple arrangements. Plan out how to get from Point A to Point B - who is going to be driving, and where do you need to be. Don’t forget the pictures! Pictures are one of the more important things, being able to look back at the pictures will be like homecoming all over again!

Make sure you are allowing yourself enough time to get ready, but don’t start too early. Starting three hours prior to the departure time is ideal. Allow yourself time for hair, makeup, and a little relaxation time.

NAILS
Nails pull together the whole attire for the night. Whether you have a simple nail, or something with a little pizazz, nails are important. Schedule your nail appointment the day before to decrease the places you’ll need to be on the day of. And who doesn't love a nice manicure? This homecoming nude, blush, and neutral colors are huge. Spice up your nails with an accent finger, or a simple design on each finger. Flowers are great designs, but geometric patterns are a big hit as well.

SKIN PREP
The worst thing to happen on the days leading up to homecoming is a horrible breakout. Going to get a facial is never a bad idea to prepare your skin, but for the few that just don’t have time you can follow these simple steps:

  • Cleanse your face by getting rid of oil and dirt.

  • Exfoliate with a gentle scrub. This will ensure your makeup will go on smooth.

  • Apply a mask, moisturize and don't forget the sunscreen!

MAKEUP
A natural look may be your “go-to”, but more dramatic makeup for pictures will give your makeup a ‘pop’. You can never go wrong with a nude look, or a little shimmer.

HAIR
Whether you want to wear your hair up or down, there is always a style for you. Loose boho waves are a very popular look this fall, if you're looking to wear your hair down. If you decide on a strapless dress, a half-up hairstyle is the way to go. Rock a braid in your half-up hairstyle, or in any upstyle. Big, textured braids are an easy way to sass up your look.

ON-THE-GO
Never forget the necessities when you leave the house for a night out. Most people don’t go anywhere without it, but don’t leave your phone behind! Use the camera and take loads of pictures, but make sure you look glamorous by bringing a touch up tool, such as lip gloss. We all love a tasty dinner before the dance, but sometimes you just need to freshen up with a mint or two afterwards.
